Dr. Paytes earned her Bachelor of Arts in Finance at the University of Illinois - Urbana\Champaign and received her MBA at St. Xavier University.
Most recently, she obtained her Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership having completed her dissertation titled:
"Supplier Diversity as a Business Strategy for Competitive Advantage."

Dr Paytes Resource-based quantitative dissertation explored the correlation between competitive advantage and supplier diversity spending by answering two questions.
- Is there a relationship between increased spending with MWBEs and competitive advantage in diverse markets?
- If there is such a relationship, what is the impact to organizational performance?
